Martin Evans

Martin Evans has just recently won back to back “Standard Bank Ovation Awards” for his solo show “FBPK” and his partnership in “Pants on Fire” at the 2012 “South African National Arts Festival” in Grahamstown.

Having just spent the past three months performing across America and England and having undertaken a 5000 mile road trip across 14 states, Martin is raring to return and bring the funnies back home. 2013 has been quite the year of travel, with Martin doing performances in 13 countries this year so far.

Described as having one of the finest comedy minds in the business, with a sense of humour that is intelligent and sophisticated.  Martin has long been praised for his originality and his quality of performance.  Martin’s hundreds of performances internationally put him right at the top of his game.  From headlining and mc’ing shows in the top venue’s  in  England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Seychelles, Bahrain, Dubai, Spain, Belgium, Malta, Austria, USA, Jersey, Poland with more in the diary, to countless performances across South Africa.

Martin’s corporate client list is very impressive and done everything from voiceover work and corporate acting, to three successful solo comedy shows. Martin has been actively involved in the outdoor music festivals in South Africa and has mc’d nearly every major music festival across the country, working with bands such as Feeder, The Prodigy, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club amoung many others.

Martin is recognizable as the face of over 25 television commercials internationally.  More recently, in South Africa as the lead in the Castle Lager and ABSA investments campaigns.  Martin can also been seen in several music videos for some of the top artists in South Africa.

Martin was recently seen in Comedy Central Special on DSTV, but many will remember him from the BBC show “Come Dine with me South Africa”.  The episode was the most talked about reality show in recent years.  Winning a SAFTA award.

Martin has performed for a variety of corporate clients. From Golf Day’s through to hosting awards, Comedy sets, as well as writing and creating bespoke packages for clients events.  Martin only has a limited corporate season as he is involved with many other projects through the year.

In July, Martin will be returning to the United Kingdom to perform till November, where he will return for the summer season back in South Africa.
