When are your shows and how much are the tickets?
Our shows run 5 nights a week (Wednesday to Sunday) at our dinner theatre and 7 nights a week over the festive season.
Shows starts at 8.30pm and dinner from 6pm. All shows have an interval of approximately 15 minutes and end about 10.30pm. Unless of course there’s a DJ in the house after the show, then it’s party-time! See the line-up on our Whats On page: www.capetowncomedy.com/whats-on/

Block Booking Discounts
For some shows, there is a block booking discount of 10% available on 10 or more tickets purchased at Computicket. There are no discounts available for students or pensioners.
NB: no videography or flash photography allowed during our shows!
How do I purchase tickets for your shows?
You must book your tickets at any Computicket outlet, Shoprite or Checkers store, or online at www.computicket.com and there are no refunds allowed on ticket purchases. Bookings open a few days before the new month.
There is also a Computicket outlet at the V&A Waterfront for your convenience (at the Spur in the mall) which is open from 9am to 9pm daily. Collect your booked Computicket tickets at a Computicket outlet or print at home. We are unable to print your tickets at the door.
Tickets are only sold at the door on the night (once doors open) or telephonically on the day, subject to availability. To avoid disappointment, it’s best to book your tickets at Computicket.
NB: Your ticket is for the show only: meals and drinks from our restaurant and bar are for your account and are due on the night.
Gift cards can be purchased at the V&A Information kiosk and are redeemable at all establishments at the V&A Waterfront.
How do I make a group booking for 20+ at Computicket
For security reasons, 20 is the maximum number of tickets Computicket allows per transaction / per customer. If you however want to buy more than 20 tickets, you are required to do another transaction.
No pre-ordering of food is allowed. All our patrons (including groups who have bought tickets at Computicket), have to order their meals and drinks on the night directly from our waiters from our a la carte menu. For big groups, you are advised to arrive by 6.30pm so that we can take your order and serve your meals with ease before the show starts as our kitchen gets really busy. We also don’t allow personalized menus, table-decorations (balloons, flowers etc.), alcohol, cake or snacks in the venue. Also no speeches are allowed at your table before, after or during the show as this disrupts the comedy club experience for our normal comedy loving audience. If you want to make speeches, please consider hiring our venue exclusively. If you would like to order a cake, download this form and send it to us at least 5 days before the show. Alternatively, if you would prefer a group package: tickets + a set menu for your group, see paragraph below.
How do I make a group booking for 20+ (with set menu)

How does the seating work?
The seating arrangements in our 180-seater dinner theatre are handled by Cape Town Comedy Club and very often patrons have to share tables. Seating requests can be considered but not guaranteed as we also need to consider our other patrons for the night.
If you have booked separately with Computicket and would like to be seated together, email us a list of all the Computicket Purchasers Names so that we can try our best to group you together.

We’re celebrating a birthday, what can we do?
Thank you for choosing to celebrate with us! Let us know the birthday person’s name so that the MC can give them a special mention from the stage on the night – firstname.lastname@example.org. Is there a restaurant and bar?
Yes – we are a dinner theatre. Our restaurant is open from the time the doors open, throughout the show, until the show ends and our bar is open until 2am. No corkage allowed.

Our kitchen is halaal-friendly: we don’t serve any pork products or cook with alcohol and our meat suppliers are halaal. We also have vegetarian options available.

Where is the venue and where do I park?
We are located at The Pumphouse, Dock Road, V&A Waterfront, next to the V&A Market near the Aquarium and the new Water Shed Market. Right of admission is reserved. Parking is at Portswood Parking Area opposite the Aquarium and the Water Shed Market.
Is the venue wheel-chair friendly and is it non-smoking?
Our venue is wheel-chair friendly and is accessible throughout (no stairs). There is also a toilet for disabled patrons and disabled parking at the Portswood Parking Area opposite the Aquarium / Water Shed. If you have a wheel-chair or crutches, let us know, so that we can allocate sufficient seating space for you.
Smoking is not allowed in the venue – that includes electronic cigarettes which causes a distraction during our shows.
Who are the acts?
We book a different line-up of comedians each week – 4 comedians per night.
The Host is the MC, usually a big name, who performs and introduces all the acts. The Support Act is an established comic who performs regularly on the circuit. The Open Mic Act is a newbie comic who has been playing the circuit and been invited to our stage to do a 5 minute set. The Headline is usually a big name and is the last and longest act of the night, after interval. We often have guest comedian appearances and line-ups are always subject to change.
Caution: comedians are not censored and some material might not be appropriate for sensitive audiences. Age restriction: no under 18’s – Language & Prejudice.

How can I perform at your club?
Performances at Cape Town Comedy Club are by invitation only so comedians are required to put performance requests in writing to us (email – email@example.com) – include a biography, video and contactable references. Newbie comedians and those wishing to enter the industry could only be considered to perform if we think you are ready to hit our stage but this is completely at our discretion. Budding comedians are therefore encouraged to visit The Armchair Theatre in Lower Main Road, Observatory on Sunday & Monday open mic nights and to get as much stage time as possible.
